Get MarketCast on the Fire TV Stick Lite

MarketCast, the stock market app for TV, is a free download. Here is how to install it.

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, choose Find, then Search.
  2. Type MarketCast and pick it from the results. It is listed as "MarketCast: US Stocks, Ticker & Market Dashboard for Fire TV".
  3. Choose Get or Download and wait for it to install.
  4. Open MarketCast, then scan the QR code on the screen with your phone to add your stocks.

How MarketCast runs on the Fire TV Stick Lite

MarketCast checks how much memory a device has when it starts. Devices with under about 1.6 GB of memory, like the Fire TV Stick Lite, get a lighter display mode that skips scene cross-fades and trims some effects. For example, Market Desk drops its sparkline backdrops. Your prices, charts, news and lists are exactly the same.

  • The Lite remote has no volume or power buttons. MarketCast does not need them, since the stream plays on its own.
  • Lighter display mode skips scene cross-fades and trims a few dashboard effects. The data itself is unchanged.
  • Scanning the QR code with your phone is the quickest way to add stocks, since typing tickers with a remote is slow.

What you get, free and in Premium

  • Free: the market stream, business news, price charts, market movers, a portfolio and a watch list, and forex on the ticker tape. Supported by commercials and sponsors.
  • Premium: no commercials, real-time stock prices, crypto around the clock, unlimited custom lists, portfolio news, a daily brief, premium stream scenes, the Stock Wall and Market Desk, and more.

Premium is billed through your TV's app store, which shows the current price for your region. See the plans page for the full comparison.
