How MarketCast runs on Original and 2nd-Gen Fire TV Stick

MarketCast checks how much memory a device has when it starts. Devices with under about 1.6 GB of memory, like Original and 2nd-Gen Fire TV Stick, get a lighter display mode that skips scene cross-fades and trims some effects. For example, Market Desk drops its sparkline backdrops. Your prices, charts, news and lists are exactly the same.

  • MarketCast's minimum is Android 5.1, which is exactly what these sticks run, so they work today.
  • These sticks no longer get new system updates from Amazon, and some newer apps have dropped them. MarketCast has not.
