MarketCast is a free stock market app designed for smart TVs and streaming devices. It lets you build custom stock portfolios, view live pricing, historical charts, and market news headlines on your television. Think of it as a personal stock ticker for your living room, office, or lobby. MarketCast is available on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, and Chromecast with Google TV.
Yes. MarketCast is completely free to download and use. There are no subscription fees, no premium tiers, no in-app purchases, and no paywalls hiding features. Every feature available in MarketCast is accessible to every user at no cost. We built MarketCast because we wanted this tool to exist, and we believe financial information should be accessible to everyone.
MarketCast is developed and maintained by AdamApps LLC, an independent software studio. We have been building MarketCast since 2016 and continue to actively develop new features and support new platforms. You can learn more on our about page.
MarketCast is available on the following platforms:
MarketCast is not currently available on Roku. We evaluate new platforms regularly based on user demand and technical feasibility. If you would like to see MarketCast on Roku, please let us know so we can gauge interest.
MarketCast is designed specifically for the TV experience. It is not currently available as a phone or tablet app. The interface, font sizes, and navigation are all optimized for viewing from across the room using a TV remote. We recommend using your TV or streaming device for the best experience.
Yes. You can install MarketCast on as many devices as you like. Sign in with the same Google or Amazon account on each device and your portfolios will sync automatically across all of them. Many users run MarketCast on a TV at home and another in their office.
MarketCast displays live stock prices, daily price changes and percentages, historical price charts across multiple timeframes, market news headlines, and portfolio summaries. It supports US equities (stocks), ETFs, mutual funds, and major market indexes including the S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and Nasdaq Composite.
The Live Stream is a slideshow mode that cycles through your portfolio automatically. It displays stock prices, history charts, and news headlines on a loop. You can customize which types of content appear in the stream and how long each slide stays on screen. It is designed for always-on displays in offices, lobbies, and conference rooms where you want a hands-free view of the markets.
MarketCast sources its financial data from reliable third-party market data providers. Prices are updated in near real-time during market hours (9:30 AM to 4:00 PM ET on trading days). MarketCast is designed for informational and monitoring purposes. It should not be used as the sole basis for trading decisions. Always confirm prices with your brokerage before executing trades.
MarketCast currently focuses on US-listed securities. This includes stocks listed on the NYSE and Nasdaq, US-traded ETFs, mutual funds, and major US market indexes. Many international companies are available through their US-listed ADRs (American Depositary Receipts). Direct support for international exchanges is something we are evaluating for future updates.
MarketCast stores your portfolio in the cloud using your Google or Amazon sign-in (depending on your device). Install MarketCast on any supported device, sign in with the same account, and your portfolios will appear automatically. There is no manual export or import needed.
There is no hard limit on the number of stocks or portfolios you can create. You can build as many watchlists and portfolios as you need, each with as many stocks as you like.
First, make sure your TV or streaming device is connected to the internet. If you are on a Fire TV or Android TV, try clearing the app cache: go to Settings, then Apps, find MarketCast, and select Clear Cache. If the problem continues, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Your portfolio is stored in the cloud, so you will not lose any data.
MarketCast collects only the minimum data necessary to provide the service, primarily your sign-in information and portfolio data so we can sync it across devices. We do not sell your personal information, track your browsing habits, or share your portfolio data with third parties. For full details, see our privacy policy.
