A Stock Ticker Display for an Office or Lobby

Home / Guides / A Stock Ticker Display for an Office or Lobby

A stock ticker display used to mean an LED board and an installer. Today the simplest one is a TV you already have, a streaming stick and an app that runs the market on its own all day.

What you need

  1. A TV with an HDMI port. Any size works; bigger is easier to read from across a room.
  2. A Fire TV Stick, Google TV Streamer or Apple TV, or a TV with Google TV or Android TV built in.
  3. MarketCast, installed from the device's app store.
  4. Your stocks, added by scanning the QR code on the TV with your phone.

What the display shows

Put the Stream on and the screen cycles through the major indexes, your stocks, market movers, charts and headlines, with a ticker tape along the bottom. Nobody has to touch it. Premium removes the commercials and adds real-time stock prices and scenes such as the Stock Wall, a heatmap of the whole S&P 500.

One screen or a whole office

For a single screen, the app is all you need. If a firm wants to run screens across a lobby, meeting rooms or several branches, MarketCast Enterprise is designed to control all of them from one dashboard. It is in early access and the dashboard is in development; requesting early access tells us what you need. See how it could work for advisors, banks, brokerages and other firms.

Common questions

Do I need special display hardware?

No. Any TV with an HDMI port and a supported streaming device works, or a TV with Google TV or Android TV built in.

Can it run all day?

Yes. The Stream is designed to play on its own on a TV that stays on.

Is it investment advice?

No. MarketCast displays market information. It is not a trading platform and does not give advice.

Can I manage several screens at once?

That is what MarketCast Enterprise is being built for. It is in early access.
